Then: Me and a friend both bought guild wars as soon as it came out and for me those early days were just amazing. Seeing pre-sear for the first time blew my mind but then like others, I was kind of dissapointed when it all came tumbling down and there was this barren landscape. Of course once you start heading through the shiverpeaks and reach Kryta it all starts to get impressive again

Prophecies is still the best campaign by far, and Tyria is the best looking continent.

The community was great then too. Everyone was going through and experiencing new things together, lots of pugs, so much content to explore. Of course a game can really only be like that in its early days though, so I am glad I was there for it.

Now: Heroes have brought me back to the game, as well as having more parts of Tyria to explore. The charr homelands are great as well, kind of makes me feel like I am back in pre-sear.

Not being rushed by other players is good too. I missed most of the story the first time through so doing it again in HM has been a lot more fun. Now I actually read stuff :P

I am currently working through the UW quests 1 by 1 as well before I finally try and finish it off with heroes which will be a fun achievement.

Favourite item: probably my 14^50 krytan hand axe. I don't even use it anymore but it has always been my favourite axe skin, and the item I have held onto the longest.

I still like my Dragon Mask, RBR, the beetle I won during the first RBR event... and it's taking me a little while to think about anything else moderately enjoyable, so I'd say that's about it.

I really liked the Gamer title a lot at first, but after two seasons of being busy during Costume Brawl back when it had streak points, and seeing them change it to something much slower, and the introduction of points through SP, and my loss of a team to play Snowball ATs with, the title kind of wore out on me.

PuGs for the most part are my favorite thing about GW. I don't mean those ppl who rage at pugs, b/c they are the ones that make them bad...just the nice random ppl i run into in pugs make my playing experience enjoyable.

exactly, pugs helped live the experience more. you wouldn't rush through the areas so instantly. I do love doing speed clears though, it can harness some skill into it.

My favorite thing: Standingin the Crystal Desert looking across an epic expanse of desert and the remnants of lost civilizations with GW music playing in the background.

Or, skipping along in pre and remembering how awed I was by it when I first started playing.

Sometimes I wish I could rediscover GW all over again.

Then: the pre-searing world, the overall journey of post-searing and unravelling the Prophecies story for the 1st time. 1st time making it through THK - really felt a sense of acheivement (when it was still a stopping block mission). Seeing the Icy Dragon sword the 1st time (coincidentally, weilded by a wammo during that same THK mission) - still love that skin today. Being super excited to see a gold item drop (which was, still is, pretty rare for me. Hell, 1st time through the game I thought the blues and purples were pretty fantastic!)

Now: Chilling out in pre-sear with a perma-pre character, 7 heroes, buying new armour for characters that have nothing else to do but look pretty , trying out different professions I'd not bothered with before.
